The Office of the NSW Advocate for Children and Young People (ACYP)

The brief

Coinciding with annual Youth Week activities, the Office of the NSW Advocate for Children and Young People (ACYP) engaged SEC Newgate Research to conduct an online study to understand young people’s perspectives on life in NSW and what issues they feel government should prioritise.

The solution

SEC Newgate conducted quantitative research to obtain the views of a representative sample of children and young people on topics such as online privacy, mental health services and career paths.
The methodology involved a 15-minute online survey with n=972 young people aged 12-24 across NSW.

The outcome

These results from this research are being used by the ACYP in its engagement with NSW government departments and to inform development of published reports on topical issues impacting children and young people.
